Oregon has amazing fruit.  If you’re coming from out-of-state, you must stop by a fruit stand or farmer’s market and try some of the juicy deliciousness.

Estimated cost: $45

Time required: 5 minutes for washing fruit (feel free to leave all of the fruit except watermelon whole; people can cut their own or not, as they desire)

Equipment:

  • none (you can wash them all ahead of time, or else there will be a sink at the wedding venue for washing if you want to do it there)
  • cutting board/knife if you choose to bring watermelon

Ingredients:

If you choose this, please bring a heaping platter (10-15 pounds) of any of the following tasty seasonal fruits.  (Jen is kind-of a picky fruit eater… please don’t bring other fruits.  Like canteloupe: ugh, please no.)

Fruits in season in Oregon in August:

  • Apples
  • Blackberries
  • Blueberries
  • Boysenberries
  • Figs
  • Grapes
  • Huckleberries
  • Marionberries
  • Nectarines
  • Peaches
  • Pears
  • Plums & Pluots
  • Raspberries
  • Watermelon (please cut if you choose to bring watermelon and put it on a separate plate; don’t mix it with other fruit due to food allergies)
